Spaghetti and Meatballs

Sauce:
- 2 tablespools olive oil
- 1 medium onion, minced
- 1 can (28 oz) whole tomatoes
- 2 cans (12 oz ea) tomato paste
- 2.5 cups water
- 1 tablespoon chopped parsley
- 1.5 bay leaves, crushed
- 1 teaspoon dried, crushed basil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 0.5 teaspoon sugar
- 0.5 teaspoon dried oregano
- 0.25 teaspoon pepper
- 0.25 cup grated parmesan/romano cheese
Meatballs:
- 0.75 pound ground beef
- 0.75 pound ground pork
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 0.25 cup grated parmesan/romano cheese
- 1 tablespoon chopped parsley
- 0.5 teaspoon salt
- 0.25 teaspoon pepper
- 0.25 teaspoon oregano
- 0.25 teaspoon garlic powder
- 0.25 cup dry bread crumbs
- 1 pound spaghetti
Saute onion and garlic in a large 6-quart saucepan. Add remaining
sauce ingredients and simmer slowly 1 hour. In a large bowl,
combine ingredients for meatballs except bread crumbs; blend well.
Gradually mix in bread crumbs. Shape meat mixture into 1-inch
meatballs. Add meatballs to sauce and simmer gently about 40
minutes. Cook spaghetti according to package directions; drain.
Serve spaghetti served with sauce and meatballs. 6 servings.
