Matt Stock had asked me whether or not you could just concatenate (using cat) a bunch of VM mailbox files together and have a new valid mailbox file (like you can with regular Berkeley mail folders). He wanted to know if there was some kind of special data that VM stores in a folder which would need to be updated if you added messages to the folder. Then we talked about something else, and his parting word in the conversation was I'll try the cat, and see if it vomits.
