A parchment calligraphy document would feel highfalutin' and unnatural
coming from workaday, unpretentious, humble UB. That's why this
letter feels exactly appropriate, especially for a guy like me who has
a wing of the Library named after him because it was built on the
proceeds of his overdue fines.
