John had played tour guide for a lot of his friends who had visited Baltimore over the years. Some of his friends are older and somewhat tentative in unfamiliar places. So as we went up to the buffet area, John leaned over, and began to habitually explain, "So, over here is the Chinese food, and over there they have fried chicken and spareribs."
"Thanks, John." I said.
"In the back, there's a salad bar. That's for if you want to get some salad. And later, when you want some dessert --"
"John!" I interrupted. "Imagine for a moment, that I had happened to have come to this restaurant alone. Do you think I would be unable to feed myself?"
"Sorry!"
