To: csgeeks, pod-people, nejohn, parents, friends Subject: Corporate Propaganda From: Daniel Boyd Reply-To: Daniel Boyd Yesterday they showed us this video about the Pike Fish Market in Seattle, where the guys sing and play around while selling fish, happily shouting to each other and tossing big salmon through the air; basically adding a bunch of showmanship on top of the business of selling fish. And they've handed out copies of the mission statement. And they've handed out copies of an inspirational message from the company president. And they've handed out a another little bag of Scrabble tiles spelling out the word 'EXPERIENCE'. And they've handed out copies of this little book about the Fish Philosophy. And they handed out pseudo-Beanie-Baby stuffed fish. About eight inches long with big eyes and bright colors. My stuffed fish, who has already attended a meeting with me, is sitting on top of my monitor reading the Fish Philosophy book, highlighter at the ready. He may share his comments in e-mail a little later on in the day. The fish says his name is Lawrence. ("Hey, man! Check out channel 9!")
