March 2004 -- Disney World [5]

Here's another picture from the Picture Spot. This isn't the one they expect you to take but I think it's a lot more interesting. Also, the upper left shows conclusively that they painted the rock.

We rode on the boat ride that goes through the rooms with the little dolls of various national origins singing the repetitive song.

Cosmo was a little scared of the dark at first. Then all the dancing dolls made him a little nervous, because he didn't know what they were going to do.

Once we'd been in there for a little while, he really got into the swing of things and started to sing along. He had a great time.

A short boat ride. Cosmo enjoyed it very much.

Just before this boat ride we went through an animatronic show that, as I told Shaene and Craig, being named the "Hall of the Presidents of the United States of America", should have, of course, "Lump", "Peaches", "Kitty", and the theme song from the Drew Carey show, "Cleveland Rocks!" Instead it was a bunch of animatronic dead guys, (well, most of them are dead except the last few), making a bunch of speeches. More patriotic and uplifting, but I still think they really ought to consider making my version.

Fun Activity: Find Shaene and Craig in this photo. (Here's a picture of them to aid in recognition.)

After Frontierland, which meant a ride on this one roller coaster, and another ride on a log flume which I didn't get any pictures of (it's a general thing with my web page that there are few photos of activities which entail danger to the digital camera), we went off towards Adventureland. On the right you can see an area of the park that had many many seagulls hanging around -- gulls were not common in the rest of the park. You can see why the gulls hang around, written in yellow on the window of the structure at left.

We went on the Jungle Boat Ride. Perhaps it has a more elaborate name, but I think it's actually named just "Jungle Boat Ride". We also took in Pirates of the Carribean, but I don't have any pictures from inside that one. Not because it's particularly dangerous to the digital camera (they don't use live ammunition any more, not since the mid 90s at least), but because it was more fun to enjoy the ride than to spend the whole time trying to document it.

Perhaps that means that most of the pictures on these pages are of the more boring rides!
