Thanksgiving 2003 in Tampa [8]

In the morning we got on I-4 going east. The Bates RV people have bowed to the inevitable hurricanes and put up a simple billboard, with a bisected Airstream mounted on it. Also, a wind sock?

Orlando is a bigger city than most people think. It's sort of a mini-Los-Angeles.

Janet and I dropped in at her new apartment complex to check things out. She signed her new lease, so now she can drive two minutes to get to work instead of two hours. A 60-fold improvement in commuting time! It's like Moore's Law or something.

Then we drove around Lake Mary, which is one of the older areas of Orlando and still has rustic Southern charm.

We walked around the downtown area for a while. It's very pretty and quaint.

Janet noticed this historical facade being preserved while they gut the rest of the building and rebuild it.

As the sun went down we headed back to New Tampa.

Marshmallow was waiting patiently for us. Janet fed the cats -- apparently, very very quickly. We did some grilling that night, but I didn't get any pictures. We had some chicken and beef skewers from Janet's "pantry", and Shaene and Craig came over and ate more Thanksgiving dinner, and we didn't play Cranium.
