Here's an old story I found on my laptop, about the International Cat Show in Madison Square Garden. We went to it last April. We got conned by a sneaky vendor, but other people conned themselves even worse.

Strange Spectral Skeleton Sighted At Show
Janet went to Comdex in November 1997, and I spent some time talking to her from home using Vocaltec Internet Phone. Then Mr. Janglin' Bones the plastic skeleton, got into the act and talked to her some too.

On Feline Digestion
I have fed the cats many times, and still I must choke back my rising gorge at the odor of the canned food. It's awful noisome slimy stuff that on occasion smells a bit like corned beef hash.

I went to the Erie County Naval & Servicemen's Park today; it's on the waterfront in downtown Buffalo. I spent a couple hours tramping through various compartments on the U.S.S. Little Rock (an old guided-missile cruiser) and strolling around the museum.

I happened to load an image from the USENIX terminal room camera that has Davin standing in the foreground. Shortly before, he had been facing the other way. I hope all of you are very interested in exploring the many sides of Davin Milun.

Shortly thereafter, Matt Stock came by the camera. This photo happens to have Davin in it too.

Living with Nature
I wanted to pull the screen down, so that I wouldn't wake up covered in mosquito bites. When I lifted the wooden sash, various insects that had been sitting on the outside sill started buzzing around angrily. One of them was a truly HUGE bumblebee, which went zzzz thud thud thud zzzzzzzzzzz thud thud thud zzzzzzz thud thud thud against the inner window. I quickly closed the window again.

Last week, Heather's mom made a huge dinner for us. Roast pork, potatoes au gratin, green beans, salad, rolls, beets. There's a strange kind of civility that takes over when you're eating Sunday dinner at Heather's parents' house. You feel compelled to use a glass rather than drinking out of cans and pass things politely to people when they ask for them.
