Some classic csgeeks abodes

Over the years, there have been some apartments/houses where various geeks have lived, which became places of common csgeek assemblage.

4801 North Bailey
Davin moved in here in Fall 89, with Adam Rosenberg as his housemate. Adam stayed for three years, and then graduated and left (to a job in Ohio). Bud then moved in for a year. Davin and Bud both moved out at the end of Summer 93 - Davin moved in with Elyse, and Bud went to his parents briefly, before moving on to grad school at Stanford. Dan Boyd then moved in (with Joe Guszcza as his housemate), and stayed for a year. Then, in Summer 94, ended the csgeek occupation of 4801 North Bailey.

This apartment saw many csgeeks events, including the first bunch of end of semester parties. And it became the standard location of the weekly gaming group.

Sutton Place
Chris, Brian and Eric ("the trinity", or "the triumvirate") lived in an apartment in the Sutton Place complex from the middle of the Fall 89 semester, January 91.

This apartment saw the first pre Thanksgiving dinner, and was the first regular gaming location.

171 Berehaven
[Details please guys - who lived here when?]

This apartment was the location of a semesterly barbecue.

Amherst Manor
Elyse moved into an apartment in the Amherst Manor complex in Fall 91, after having spent her 4 undergraduate years in the Main Street dorms. Her first housemate was Debbie Hirsch, who moved out Summer 92 when she graduated. The Jackie moved in for a year, until Summer 93. Davin moved in with Elyse in Fall 93. Elyse and Davin lived there until September 1999, when they moved down to the NYC area.

Davin's end of semester parties and the weekly gaming sessions followed him to this apartment when he moved there. It basically became the standard geek hangout. For example, people often come over to watch Babylon 5, and other TV. It also became the site of a few July 4th parties (for Chris and Elyse's birthdays).

494 Stockbridge
John and Alistair moved in in June 95. The house was broken in to csgeeks events with a Housewarming party on July 15.

180 Mackinaw
Chris, Brian and Eric moved in here in January 91 when they left Sutton. The apartment was partially finished when they first moved in (in fact, it had no heat, even though it was winter when they moved in!), but was eventually fairly livable. (They were initially in the upper front apartment, made the lower rear livable, and moved there somewhere around the end of the semester. With the addendum that Chris' room was actually in the lower front until Brian left.)

Brian left in February 92 and took a job in California. Chris and Eric stayed there until Chris moved out in the Summer of 94. Eric just moved out in the Summer of 95 (and moved to an apparently cool place near the Brew Pub). Matt (and his ferrets) moved in to the upstairs apartment in summer 92 and moved out of there in July 95 (and moved into an apartment in London Towne with Sandy).

And Chris moved back in at the end of September, 1996! Into the upstairs apartment that Matt had lived in.

This apartment was the location of many pre Thanksgiving dinners (91-93), and also the site of gaming on occasion. Matt's apartment was the Babylon 5 watching location site for part of the first season, and also an occasional gaming site. The building was also the location of rapunzel.net - the thinnet ethernet running out the window between Eric's and Matt's machines; which was often used for multi-player Doom.

Hope Lodge, 197 Summer Street
Alistair and Deborah Campbell were the resident managers of Buffalo Hope Lodge from 1992-1994. This apartment was the site of one party, as well as the first annual ``Spring Break Get Smashed.''

59 Lisbon
Heather and Peej (and Peggy) shared an apartment here.

This apartment was the site of gaming for a while during 91, and also where the beardless-Kulbir party was held! (And some other people might have other stories about this place.)

739 Castelbar
Steve's place (actually his parent's place). It has housed the occasional party, barbecue, and is used for gaming sometimes.

572 Minnesota
Chris Cheung lived here for the 94-95 school year. The csgeek even that was held here was the 94 pre Thanksgiving dinner.

257 and 264 Water Street, New York, NY
Jim lived across the street from Peej and Kulbir in Manhattan from 1996 until P & K moved to the Upper West Side in 1998. Jim continued to live at 257 until he moved to Brooklyn with Jen a few years later.
